The “Saz Roshan” performance is a work by Aban Moezzi, who served as the designer, writer, director, acting coach, stage designer, and costume designer. It was performed in several cities in Iran and garnered significant success, including first place in directing and first place in writing for Aban Moezzi. The acting team, consisting of differently-abled girls (with mental, physical, and motor disabilities), received praise from the judges and won first place in acting for the “Saz Roshan” performance.
Aban Moezzi:
“To work with differently-abled girls, you must understand their issues and see life from their perspective. Believe in them and give them hope. They are full of love and zest for life. Due to the limitations imposed on them by society, they value moments more than we do and understand them better. They are ambitious and their minds do not have our filters. We, seemingly ordinary people, are constantly self-censoring. We have many inner fears, find it hard to speak our minds, and are afraid of loving and living. The fears of differently-abled girls differ from ours. If they cannot show their best, it is often due to external fears. Society and people do not believe in them. In the ‘Saz Roshan’ performance, I always tried to create a safe space for them, giving them motivation, enthusiasm, and hope.”
